Winter Wonderland

Chloe-Jean has been growing up so quickly lately. She is crawling like no other and can stand up. She has ventured standing on her own, but her little body isn't quite ready. That leaves John and I crawling around like babies looking for new "toys" that she may possible play with. We are going to have to do some MAJOR baby proofing this week. She has managed to pull DVDs out of the shelf, open up a cabinet drawer, pull up on the rocking chair, hearth, or coffee table, and pull ornaments off of the Christmas Tree. Being only 7 months, I was not ready for this yet. It is amazing how quickly she is growing up! Well, Christmas cards are in the mail...but here is a sweet Christmas Treat!

Christmas Celebrations

John has been out of town quite a few nights this week. Last night, he was in Houston. Baylor had their annual Christmas on 5th Street Celebration. Believe it or not, I had never attended when I was at Baylor. I invited our friends, the Keanes to join us. Cinda had something to do, but John-Henry and Travis came along. We had so much fun. Chloe got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and tell them what she wanted for Christmas. There was a petting zoo, a live Nativity scene, and lots of Christmas festivities. Chloe was all dress up in her Santa Hat, Red Velvet Trench Coat, and used my first Christmas Blanket. We had a wonderful time!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. God has blessed us with Chloe-Jean and we are so thankful for her. It amazes me how she changes everyday. She is crawling all over the place and is fascinated with banging things on our coffee table. She also LOVES her Christmas tree. Here are all the pictures of the weekend!

Chloe was ready to eat on Thanksgiving!

Chloe was baptized on Saturday. She was great and didn't cry at all.

The Race Begins!

On your mark....

Get Set.....

Go!

Go!

OOPS!

Maybe next time...

Mommy's Little Helper

Last night, before her bath, Chloe-Jean was "helping" me put the laundry away. She is getting SO big. She has 2 teeth and more are coming in. We are learning that she has quite the temper. She let's us know when she is not happy with us! Last night, while eating her sweet potatoes, she grunted and grumbled because she wanted her pears. She's a little spitfire!

Also, Grandma Terry was in town this weekend. She went with us to get a MUCH NEEDED haircut. Not for me, but for Chloe! Her hair was so long, we could put it in pig tails. How CRAZY is that! I can't believe a 5 month old has had 2 haircuts! The great thing is that she is going to keep my hair looking good because we both go the the same hair dresser, so I make an appointment for the both of us.

How Time Flies!

Here we are, the middle of October, and I am apologizing AGAIN for not updating! We have been busy. Chloe has been to a Baylor Football game, the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo, went to Grandma Jean's house for the weekend, and New Mexico. All with in the last few weeks. Here are some great pictures to capture the moments:

We went to the Baylor Bear football game. It was fun and WE WON!!

Chloe was able to have her first solids and this is her reaction!

This is her new highchair!

We went to New Mexico and Chloe was able to meet lots of new family. She also went swimming for the first time and LOVED it, even though the water was freezing!

John and I went to St. Louis for our Birthday weekend and left Chloe-Jean behind. Obviously, she wanted to go with us!

We went to the rodeo with our friends, the Keane's and their son, Triavis.

She also LOVED John-Henry's Cowboy hat!

Updates....

Okay...I am a BAD Blogger. With the start of school, things have gotten crazy around here. We have settled into a routine, and Chloe-Jean is growing up fast. Here is a recap of the last month!

Chloe-Jean started going to "school' in early August. I wanted her to get used to the idea from being away from me before I had to go back to work. To be honest, it was mostly for me. She LOVES going to school. Her teachers are CRAZY about her. Her she is on her first day, all dressed up!

Chloe-Jean got her hair cut. I know, I know......3 months old and a hair cut. She has SO MUCH HAIR!! She did well on my lap. I love her little hair-do. However, a month later and we need a trim!

Grandpa and Grandma Alderete came to visit in Mid-August. It is always good to have them in Texas. So far, they have made it every month to see her. In October, we are going to New Mexico. Chloe-Jean will be taking her first flight!

Our Loss

On Tuesday, August 19th, John's Dad lost his ten year battle with cancer. We are so blessed that Chloe-Jean got to meet her Grandpa Leno. There were many days that she was the only one who could bring a smile to his face. May he rest in peace.

Wow...It's been a while!

This is actually the second time that I have tried to post this update. We have been so busy the last few weeks. I am going to put up pictures everyday until we are caught up with all of Miss Chloe-Jean's happenings.

Cousin Freddy and Cousin Betty bought her this CUTE dress in Mexico....Doesn't she look like a little doll?!?!

This is Chloe on the way to New Mexico for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa...It was her first 10 hour car ride and it will be her last for a while!

That is all for tonight, but I promise that there will be more tomorrow!!

Go Cardinals

John has been a HUGE Saint Louis Cardinals fan since he was a little kid. We have made it a tradition to go to a game in Saint Louis for a couple of years now. This year, Chloe may get to take part in the action. Today, we got her all ready to cheer on the Cardinals. Our friends, the Williams, bought these cutie Cardinal onesies for her. We had to pose her with her pink glove that her Tio Chet and Tia Angela bought her. She also has a pink bat to match. She's ready for the game to start!

Toys and Birthdays

As Chloe is growing, she is starting to see better, recognize faces, and laugh and smile at all the appropriate times. Last night, she started to really grasp toys and "play" with them.

AND we would like to wish Liza a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Dress Up

Chloe is finally fitting into some of her cute clothes and wearing something other than onesies. Here are some pictures of cute outfits that Aunt Cathy and Sandy, Nina Kate and Grandma Terry picked out. They are still a bit big, but she is growing by leaps and bounds!

Play Dates

Chloe had her first play dates with her friends Ella and Ethan. You can imagine the great fun they had!

Here are 2 cute pictures of Chloe on the rocker with her new blanket. A good friend made this blanket for her.
