Bluebonnets

When I moved to Texas, I had never seen bluebonnets. It was a few years ago, when I heard about pictures in bluebonnets. There is an area in Waco where parents flock to take pictures in a small field of bluebonnets. Chloe and I heard about a small patch near a church out in the country. It is definitely a Texas thing to photograph your baby in bluebonnets.....so here they are:

Also, Easter pictures are on the way!

Good Morning

Our little darling woke up at 2:30am in DESPERATE need of some teething medicine. She is getting all of her molars in at the same time. Her little mouth is SO swollen. Poor baby! But...she sure looked cute this morning!

Spring Play

Chloe has become so independent. I put some toys and books on the bottom shelf in her bedroom. She will walk into her room and play with all of the toys. It is so much fun to watch her play with blocks and other toys. She has started to stack blocks and put them in their box when I tell her it's time to clean up. She is getting her molars in, so we are having fun with that! Yesterday, we were ready for Spring....and thank goodness it warmed up to 69*!

On another note...I am having a first year quilt made with some onesies and special clothing items from her first year for her birthday. I was cleaning out her closet and getting together the items from her quilt. I found all of her onesies that she wore all summer long. She was in New Born sizes until the end of July. They were so tiny! I won't lie....I cried when I was packing them away and putting them in the attic. It amazes me how, in less than a year, my baby went from this tiny little thing to a little toddler, walking and getting into EVERYTHING!

Enjoy the pictures!

Jonah

I "ran" into a friend from my time in Europe in this blogging world. It has been fun catching up with Stephanie and seeing her family via blogs. She had a post about a little boy named Jonah who has a rare skin condition. Many people from around the world have been praying for this little boy. It makes me thank God that our Chloe-Jean is healthy. Jonah's story also reminds me not to take our health for granted and God is in control of our lives. Anyways, I am including Jonah's blog button on my page. If you would, visit Jonah and read about his miraculous birth and pray for continued strength as he fights for his life.

Spring Break....What a Week!

Although it was fun visiting family, it was nice being back in our bed. Chloe had a great time seeing everyone and playing with her cousins! It made me wish that we lived closer to her cousins that are close to her age. We had a lot of firsts this trip, mostly revolving around food. Chloe shared many of my meals, which was exciting. She ate waffles, grilled cheese sandwiches, pasta, spaghetti, chicken and noodles, pasta salad, bagels, and so many other yummy treats. It makes me sad that she is no longer eating her pureed veggies, but it is exciting to see her growing up.

Chloe did so well in the car for SO many hours. At one point, I had to pull out the camera and have a photo shoot. This is her cheesing it up! She now has this fake smile that is hilarious!

We did a lot of swinging at Aunt Cathy's house. Chloe LOVED it. She wanted us to push her higher and higher, the little Dare Devil!

Chloe loves kids, especially those in the 18-20 month range. Most of that has to do with the fact that she love's playing with Travis, our neighbor and good friend. She loves to hug and kiss kids. Her cousin, Colton, is 20 months. He wanted nothing to do with this little tike who was running around and playing with HIS toys. But, we did get them into the bath together. They each stayed on their own side of the tub, but they did acknowledge each other a couple of times.

Funny story: Travis and John-Henry were watching our house as we were away. Travis would run into the house and yell, "Chloe! Chloe!" He would ask John-Henry where she was. He missed her!

On Vacation....

It's Spring Break and we are in Ohio with the Pedrotti clan. We got here yesterday and Chloe went CRAZY with all of her cousins. Today, we went to this play area and Chloe had a ball! She made friends with a little girl, Ava, who asked if we could move to Ohio when she found out we were from Texas. She was a doll! Here, Chloe is playing in the house. We will write more soon!

Random Pictures

On Valentine's Weekend, my family was in town. John also had his sisters from Austin and one from Ohio here. So, with everyone in town, we decided to host a Valentine's Brunch with Chloe as the STAR!

Also, we have made it quite the ritual to have music time right before her bath. Chloe-Jean loves to dance, play, and eat her instruments. It is a cherished time, as she has reserved 7pm to show us all her tricks. The first time she stood up holding on to something was during music time. Her first few steps were during music time. Most recently, she decided that she can stand up without the assistance of an object or another person. All during music time. So, here are a few pictures.

We went to the doctor for Chloe's nine month appointment. Here are the stats:
* 16 lbs 3 oz (25%)
* 29 1/2 inches (75%)
* Her head circumference is in the 70th percentile
* The doctor was impressed with her reflexes and her ability to move around. She had no problem showing off her walking moves.
* We got the go ahead to start true table food. Chloe will have spaghetti tonight for dinner. She is growing up!

Happy Nine Months, Chloe-Jean!

Yesterday, Chloe-Jean turned 9 months old. We had a celebration lunch at Grandma Pedrotti's House. Chloe-Jean dined on Chicken, Pasta, and Peas. You may be thinking that we are talking Gerber here, but no...She is eating real food now. I can't believe how big she is getting. We are going to the doctor on Wednesday, so the stats will come then. But, here are some fun video clips of her walking around the furniture. She is hardly holding on to anything as she walks. Yesterday, she took 10 steps. She will be walking in NO TIME!! I can't believe it!

Hair

Chloe-Jean has so much HAIR!!! I bet you couldn't guess. She has had 2 hair cuts, but I want it to grow out. When her hair is wet, the back reaches half way down her back! It is at such a weird stage. It's too long to leave down, but curly. So, I finally gave in and started "doing" her hair. It is amazing how difficult it is to do an 8 month old's hair. I figured cute bows would make it work while!

In this picture she looks really big, but she is still in 3-6 month clothes....Very petite!

Meeting New Friends

Last weekend, we went to Houston and hung out with my long time friend Denise and her daughter, Abigail. It was the first time I met Abigail. She was so precious. It made me miss when Chloe was three months old. It was great seeing Denise. Without plagiarizing her blog, it was funny to see how times have changed. We have definitely moved into our adult lives. We were concerned about feeding, strollers, and the latest baby gear. That is a far cry from our days as roommates! I look forward to the days when we have play dates and slumber parties with the girls!

4 Generations

When we went to New Mexico for Christmas, my mom, grandmother, Chloe and I took a generation photo. I turned out cute, especially because Chloe was in desperate need of her afternoon nap!

Happy New Year!

Well, I can't believe that it has taken me this long to post, but between Texas and New Mexico, there was hardly any time. Christmas was WONDERFUL. Chloe-Jean had great fun unwrapping gifts and then eating the paper. She got so many great gifts from all of her cousins, aunts, and uncles. It was neat starting our own traditions in our home. John and I each took our own family traditions and made our own. Chloe sat through the Christmas Story and really looked as though she was listening. Chloe also saw her first snow....and Grandpa was ready to strap on skis! It was a great break...but time to get back to work.

Chloe LOVED all of the paper that she got to rip open at our house. She had fun opening up her gifts.

Chloe was all dressed up for Christmas Dinner at Grandma Jean's house....She LOVED her dinner....can't you tell?

Seeing snow for the first time at SIpapu Ski Resort. This is where Grandpa is going to teach her how to ski!

Chloe is on her way to walking. She pulls up on everything. Now, she knows the dogs in the backyard. She visits them through the window all the time. When they bark, she crawls to the window, pulls up, and wants to know what is happening!
